FISHING REPORTS: RIVERS & LAKES

January 22, 2008

St. Johns River

Bass are starting to bed with a few locked on, others are cruising the shallows in wait of the next moon to get full and then providing we have no harsh cold fronts we should have good spawn. The last week I have been catching them on Devils horse and sinkos worked around the edges of the weeds .The BASS Southern open tournament is going out of Palatka this week and it will be interesting to see how the Pro’s do on the local waters.

I have not been able to get out for any Speck fishing yet but I was talking with Bill at Blairs Jungle Den and he has been weighing in some for anglers with a couple tipping the scales almost 3 pounds. That’s a BIG Speck.

Lake Dexter has been full of Manatees playing around; I counted 15 the other day.

Remember to make time to take yourself and your family fishing.

Good luck and I’ll see you on the river.
